Conference Topic of Discussion: From Thesis to CEO
Founder & CEO, IncludeFitness
Ryan Eder is Founder & CEO of IncludeFitness, a digital health & wellness company leveraging technology, data and design to transform the delivery of physical medicine, rehabilitation and wellness providing better outcomes with lower barriers & costs.
Ryan has garnered over 30 design & innovation awards through his 11+ years of product development experience in the sporting goods, medical, housewares, industrial, and consumer electronics industries.
While attending the University of Cincinnati in 2006, Ryan witnessed a man in a wheelchair struggle while exercising. This inspired a concept for an inclusive fitness platform as his senior thesis. A year later, that concept was recognized with Gold, Best in Show, and People’s Choice in The International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA); an award given to Apple, Nike, Microsoft and Tesla in subsequent years.
Utilizing this recognition, Ryan spent 10 years and raised $6M dollars to expand his technology and build IncludeFitness. In 2016, the evolution of his work won Best in Show for a second time in The IDEA Awards. In 2017, he was recognized as a 'Healthcare Hero' and was in the 40 under 40 class of 2017 by the Cincinnati Business Courier.
Ryan holds a BS in Industrial Design from the University of Cincinnati’s College of Design, Architecture, Art & Planning.
